Mount Meru is the second highest mountain in Tanzania at 4,566m above sea level (14,980ft), and the fifth highest in Africa. The mountain is located within Arusha National Park and it is by far less crowed than Mount Kilimanjaro .
Mount Meru’s inner walls rise over 1,500m from the crater floor, making them among the tallest cliffs in Africa. The mountain offers amazing scenery from the summit including , amazing views of the crater and ash cone and of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The ascend is quite steep passing over streams, through parkland, montane( Mountain forest), a giant heather zone and moorland. All accommodation on this Mountain is in Huts. The 3 Days Climb can be combined with safari or a Kilimanjaro Climb as most people do.
